Dying Light – A New Short Film

Focus Shift Films have begun preproduction on Luke Andrew’s short film – Dying Light. The ambitious short film tells the story of two young boys during World War 2, who watch a German fighter plane come down over their village  and are first on the scene. When they find the German pilot the boys realise the horrors of war. Set in an idyllic village the boys have been sheltered from war by their Mother – until today. BAFTA Cymru nominated Luke Andrews is returning to directing short films after a few years working professionally as an editor. Using a beautiful location, high quality aerial filming and a sprinkle of VFX Luke is looking to bring this short film to life and to showcase his capabilities. Working with experienced Executive Producer Jill James and Vale Productions the team at FSF are looking forward to bringing Luke’s film to life. The film is in the very capable hands of BAFTA winning DOP Keefa Chan with all involved having high hopes for the success project. The film will be set in the beautiful Herefordshire village of Goodrich and shoots the last week of April. FSF and Luke are in the process of arranging casting sessions to find our talent and then we can begin rehearsing the fantastic script. Dying Light is being part funded by new filmmaking technology company Digital Production Pro and will be using their DPP Studio software to 3D laser scan all locations and to plan every shot in great detail.
